Finding a Home in Shear Forgiveness
Escaping a bad relationship, Amelia moves back to her home state of Texas. Only, she opts to go to Dallas instead of Houston where she is from. Her reason is because she doesn’t want to run into Ridge, her high school boyfriend, who had been the reason she moved to Oklahoma fifteen years ago. That, and the fact that she had gotten into some trouble and not wanting to be whispered about . Nor had she wanted to run into him after he’d hurt her all those years ago, as she still harbors unforgiveness. She doesn’t think she ever wants to see him again. Now back in Texas, her ex, Trent, sends text messages, threatening to find her as she wasn’t answering his calls. Though she hurt her leg while running track in high school—ruining any chance of her dream in going to the Olympics—she still runs for pleasure, at her own pace. She now enjoys running in a park where she has meaningful chats with an older gentleman, who delights in feeding the ducks who come to his bench from the park’s pond. She finds him easy to talk to and the two become fast friends. Landing a job in her career choice, she works at a beauty salon where she befriends her co-workers. This turns out to be a good thing as she will need all the support she can get.
